The articulated fit and high-low hem release our shoulders and hips from restrictions as we power up the mountain while the sleeve vents expel excess heat and the grid-tricot-backed collar and chin guard shield our face from icy crosswinds without the chafe. As we transition we slip our skins inside one of the front backpack-friendly pockets to keep them from freezing up on the descent and we cinch the hem and hood tight for powder-spray protection throughout our hard-earned turns.
